Achema 2012: Bosch Packaging Technology underlines position as supplier of complete solutions

Experience innovations for the pharmaceutical industry on three interconnected booths and celebrate with us the sale of the 100th isolator. We will introduce the new Fast Air Lock ISS 1000, designed for the fast transfer of pharmaceutical equipment into and out of isolators as well as the KKX 3900 for x-ray-based inspection of filled capsules. Be impressed by an entire process chain for solid pharmaceuticals, ranging from mixing and coating to pressing and filling of tablets and capsules, which will be on display on our booths. Manual, semi and fully automated inspection equipment from Eisai Machinery, further developments and comprehensive services round out Bosch’s Achema appearance.

Exhibition highlights

Bosch presents the new Fast Air Lock ISS 1000 for the first time. It was developed for fast transfer of pharmaceutical equipment without contamination into and out of isolators. An efficient evaporation process and an optimized loading unit result in very fast cycle times of only approximately 20 minutes.

A further novelty is the Bosch KKX 3900 for 100 percent check weighing and quality control by visual inspection. The system operates on the basis of soft x-ray technology and is used for filled capsules.

Bosch Packaging Technology also showcases an entire pharmaceutical solid process chain, consisting of different machines covering all steps comprised in process of capsule production. With this concept, Bosch offers an all-in-one solution for the production of solid pharmaceuticals. It is available for small batch sizes and laboratory usage as well as for large batch production environments.

With the acquisition of the machinery business companies (named Eisai Machinery) of Eisai Co., Ltd.  in April this year, Bosch extends its expertise in the inspection of liquid and solid pharmaceuticals. At Achema, Eisai Machinery presents the new ETAC Easy View, a visual inspection device for particle and cosmetic inspection of very small batches.

Further exhibits complete the pharmaceutical portfolio and underscore Bosch’s position as full range provider. An innovative filling system, new Track & Trace equipment, and a new rod inserter and labeler for syringes are complemented by further developments in CIP (cleaning in place) and sterilization, filling and packaging. The trade show appearance is rounded out by service products for improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), spare parts management and a concept for preventive maintenance.
