New regional service hub for Latin America

Bosch Packaging Technology has expanded its after-sales services support in Latin America. The newly established regional service hub has taken up operations in São Paulo, Brazil. Bosch has a base of approximately 3,000 machines installed in this market. Bosch plans to acquire Osgood Industries, Florida

Osgood

Bosch Packaging Technology plans to acquire Osgood Industries, Inc., based in Oldsmar, Florida. Agreements to this effect were signed on February 6, 2015. Bosch thereby intends to further strengthen its engagement in the liquid food industry in North America and additional markets. With sales of approximately 26 million USD in 2014, Osgood Industries employs about 150 associates. The transaction is pending the successful completion of all necessary antitrust approvals. Bosch and Klenzaids plan joint venture in India

Bosch Packaging Technology and Klenzaids Contamination Controls Pvt. Ltd. are planning a joint venture in India. Both companies signed agreements to this effect on November 28, 2014. The plan is for Bosch to acquire a 49 percent share in Klenzaids, an owner-managed company that produces processing, packaging, and clean-room technology for the global pharmaceutical industry. …more

A different kind of photo shoot: To get a better understanding of the east African market, its products, and its manufacturers, Bosch’s general manager for Kenya, Vandan Rughani, and Mathias Krug from Bosch Packaging Technology recently embarked on an expedition accompanied by local students. Over several days in October, the team visited marketplaces, supermarkets, and small retailers in Ethiopia and Uganda, and photographed the manufacturers’ addresses printed on local product labels. …more

Joachim Dittrich to lead the Liquid Food business unit

Joachim Dittrich (50) has been appointed head of the Liquid Food business unit at Bosch Packaging Technology. He succeeds Jürgen Katzenbach (45), who will become the unit’s commercial manager. The Liquid Food business unit develops, manufactures, and markets processing and packaging solutions for liquid and paste-like food, especially for customers in the dairy, fruit juice, and coffee industries. By 2020, Bosch Packaging Technology aims to grow considerably faster than the market, and to further expand its leading position in the realm of process and packaging technology around the world. “We expect to see fundamental change in the market for packaging machinery. We not only want to react to this change, we also aim to help shape it,” said Friedbert Klefenz, President of Bosch Packaging Technology, during the company’s press conference at the Interpack trade show in Düsseldorf.
