Christmas time means gingerbread time!

Max Weiss Lebkuchenfabrik Neu-Ulm GmbH has been producing traditional German gingerbread cookies – known as lebkuchen and referred to as “brown goods” – in Neu-Ulm, Germany, since 1925. More than 270 employees produce about three metric tons of dough per hour, which is equivalent to some 60 to 70 metric tons per day. The top secret ingredients are weighed and combined according to traditional recipes. The demands on each individual and on the collaboration of all associates have changed rapidly in recent years. That’s why the Bosch Group launched the “Inspiring Working Conditions” (IWC) project; its aim was to set up a framework that is right for Bosch for developing basic conditions for HR management, IT tools, and office and working environments. Following international field tests at a number of Bosch locations, the IT department of Bosch Packaging Technology launched a pilot phase for IWC in late 2014. Bosch plans acquisition of Kliklok-Woodman Corporation

Packaging Technology is planning to acquire Kliklok-Woodman Corporation, based in Decatur, Georgia, U.S.A. Agreements to this effect were signed on September 21, 2015. Kliklok- Woodman is a globally recognized manufacturer of packaging machinery for the food industry. The company employs some 240 associates and supplies customers worldwide from its U.S.-headquarters and a second manufacturing facility, Kliklok International Ltd. located in Bristol, United Kingdom. …more

FXS Combi honoured with Red Dot Award

Bosch Packaging Technology has received the internationally renowned “Red Dot Award” from the Design Zentrum Nordrhein-Westfalen in the category product design. The independent 38-member jury announced on March 30 that it awards the company with an “Honourable Mention” and acknowledges the well-executed design achievement of the FXS Combi. The filling and closing machine for pre-sterilized nested syringes, vials and cartridges, developed at the site in Crailsheim, is the first machine from the Packaging Technology division to receive this important design award. …more


Bosch closes acquisition of Osgood Industries in USA

Bosch Packaging Technology has closed its acquisition of Osgood Industries, Inc., based in Oldsmar, Florida, a filling and packaging machine specialist. The antitrust authorities have approved the appropriate documents. Bosch thereby further strengthens its engagement in the liquid food industry in North America and additional markets. With sales of approximately 26 million USD in 2014, Osgood Industries employs about 150 associates. It has been agreed that the purchase price will not be disclosed. …more



Bosch Packaging Technology and Lighthouse Instruments: cooperation for automated headspace leak detection

Bosch Packaging Technology today announced a cooperation with Lighthouse Instruments, LLC, headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA. The cooperation will result in a new machine series for pharmaceutical container closure integrity (CCI) testing with laser headspace analysis (HSA) exclusively marketed by Bosch. To this end, Lighthouse will exclusively license and supply Bosch with laser measurement systems for automated pharmaceutical leak detection applications.

New regional service hub for Latin America

Service Hub Latin America

Bosch Packaging Technology has expanded its after-sales services support in Latin America. The newly established regional service hub has taken up operations in São Paulo, Brazil. Bosch has a base of approximately 3,000 machines installed in this market. Many customers have their production sites in Brazil. “Bosch has already been present with service engineers in Latin America for several years,” Michel Jemael, head of services of Bosch Packaging Technology in Brazil, explained. …more
