A premiere for Bosch’s isolator technology in Taiwan: The machine manufacturer realized an isolator project for the pharmaceutical company Orient EuroPharma (OEP) from the installation of the filling machine to the downstream service support. About three years ago, the company had founded the division OP Nano in Yunlin County for aseptic filling of liquid products such as chemotherapeutic drugs.
„We were looking for a vendor with profound know-how and a lot of resources, as well as a reliable service in the Asian region to react quickly to our inquiries,” Calvin Tsai, Chief Executive at OEP, recalls. Flexibility, safety and product quality were key requirements for OP Nano, since the company intended to produce many different products on the line. For OP Nano, a decisive factor for the cooperation with Bosch was not only the machine manufacturer’s decades of experience in different barrier technologies, but also the possibility to receive all line parts from a single source.
A turnkey solution
The line starts with cleaning of the empty vials, then hands them over for sterilization as well as depyrogenization, and takes them to the isolator area where they are filled. It also includes a freeze dryer for the lyophilization and a washing machine for the outer surface of the filled vials. For higher convenience, Bosch equipped the line with the disposable filling system PreVAS, where the components are pre-validated, pre-assembled and pre-sterilized. “We didn’t have to worry about organizing deliveries and the implementation of equipment from different providers; Bosch was on top of things at all times,” Tsai says.
The order is rounded off by Bosch’s service network in Asia, which OP Nano can access at any time and almost without any time difference. “Our company is so satisfied with the quality and the result that we decided to buy another machine from Bosch,” Tsai concludes.
