Short after interpack in Germany, the next important pharmaceutical trade show is opening its doors to the professional visitors: FCE Pharma. As the biggest marketing and sales event in the Latin American region, it plays an important role in the growth of the pharmaceutical industry there. The trade show will take place from May 23 to 25 at São Paulo, Brazil. Bosch Packaging Technology will showcase solutions and machines to water treatment, lab equipment for the processing of solid medicines, and a tooling inspection system.
Bosch will present the new generation of energy-efficient pure steam generators and distillation units. The optimized thermal utilization of heating energy enables high WFI and pure steam yields. The PSG series now encompasses a performance range of 100 to 7,500 kilograms of pure steam per hour, and the still series features 350 to 12,000 liters of WFI per hour.
Lab equipment for processing OSD (oral solid dosages)
Bosch will also be showcasing its Solidlab 1 equipment. The concept of these laboratory machines combines effective use of peripheral equipment, control systems, and data management with the intelligent integration of a high-quality process module, either a fluid bed or drum coater. The individual modules are structured as they are in complete production plants. Solidlab 1 handles batches from 0.05 to 1 kilogram, while Solidlab 2 – based on the same construction principle – processes volumes from 0.25 to 12 kilograms. Each machine enables the mixing, drying, and granulation of powders as well as the coating of small particles, pellets (the fluid bed module), and tablets (drum coater module).
Hüttlin Mycromix, the smallest high-shear mixer granulator in the laboratory equipment range, is also being displayed at FCE Pharma. The machine is suited for research and design purposes and handles batches from 0.1 to 3.5 kilograms. The bottom drive unit with Hüttlin Gentlewing agitator ensures mixing and granulation results of the highest quality.
The Tooling Inspection and Analysis System (TIAS) eliminates the time-consuming and manual measuring process for new and in-use tablet compression tooling and replaces it with accurate and repeatable automated measuring. The inspection results are recorded electronically to enable straightforward reporting and historical analysis, leading to improved forecasts of tooling usage and procurement.
