At the 60th-anniversary PACK EXPO International at McCormick Place, Chicago, Bosch debuted the HMI 4.0, the human machine interface (HMI) of the next generation, which is the optimal gateway for industry 4.0. It enables a uniform and intuitive machine operation for both stand-alone machines as well as entire lines.
Bosch presented a Kliklok Enterprise endload cartoner for bag-in-box applications featuring the new HMI. Kliklok-Woodman joined Bosch in 2015. Ross Long, Vice President Sales, Marketing and Aftermarket, Kliklok-Woodman says “This show was the first opportunity to introduce Kliklok-Woodman as a fully integrated part of the Bosch family and both our associates and customers have expressed genuine enthusiasm for the expanded reach and capability this creates”.
One major focus for Bosch at this year’s PACK EXPO was showcasing the company’s system competence. On display visitors had the chance to see complete lines for the frozen food, cookie/cracker, as well as for the dairy industry.
On the last show day Bosch participated in the “Amazing Packaging Race” which took over the show floor. To complete assigned tasks, teams of students dashed from booth to booth with the chance to win iPads. On the Bosch booth, they threaded the film on a Pack 101 horizontal flow wrapper. The fastest team completed this task in as little as one minute!
“The Amazing Packaging Race gives packaging students hands-on experience and introduces them to industry leaders. It is a fun competition that’s also great learning experience”, says Maria Ferrante, senior director, marketing & communications, PMMI. By participating in the Amazing Packaging Race, Bosch contributes to the PMMI Education & Training Foundation, which supports educational efforts including scholarships for students at PMMI Partner Schools.
