Bosch Packaging Systems AG, based in Beringen, Switzerland and a company of Bosch Packaging Technology, announces that its innovative Two-in-One biscuit packaging line has been nominated for a German Packaging Award in the “Packaging Machines (technology)” category, which recognizes outstanding technical solutions for packaging manufacturing. To be nominated, a company must have developed a certain machine or new technology that improves the quality, cost-effectiveness and efficiency of the packaging process.
The biscuit packaging line was launched in May at Interpack 2014 in Duesseldorf, Germany, as the first biscuit packaging system capable of producing both, pile and slug packages, with the same feeding components on the same line. Line changeovers can be completed in less than three minutes including case format change. The Two-in-One system also features the quickest product count changes currently available in the market and occupies a smaller footprint than separate conventional machines for packaging both formats. With five patent applications filed, the seamless system features breakthrough technology for product infeed and handling, flow wrapping and case packing.
Meyrick Long, area sales manager at Bosch Packaging Systems AG remarks that “we’ve had very enthusiastic feedback from customers. They all see applications for this technology in their factories and are keen to test the system’s suitability.”
The German Packaging Awards, organized by the German Packaging Institute (dvi), have been held annually since 1963. Awards will be handed out in five categories at a ceremony being held on November 11 at the trade fair “BrauBeviale” in Nuremberg, Germany. The winners in each category will be eligible to take part in the World Star Packaging Award competition organized by the World Packaging Organization (WPO).
