Single-source solution for miniature sweets on display at ProPak China

ProPak China

Bosch Packaging Technology will present at ProPak China 2014 from 16-18 July in Shanghai a packaging line for a wide horizontal BVK2000I mini wrapping machine with an inline feeder and a mini wrapper, along with the vertical bagger SVE 2520AR/LR fed by a Yamato multi-head weigher.

This integrated packaging line enables customers to automate their packaging process, with the flexibility that supports their evolving business. Benefits include high packing speed and ease-of-use for smooth operation that maximizes uptime. Using this line solution, customers also benefit from working with a single-source solution supplier and the ability to create a customized line design, ensuring high operational effectiveness.

The company recently upgraded its BVK 2000 family to incorporate a new feeding system for economically packaging bite-size products. The new BVK 2000I was developed by Bosch’s Center of Competence in China which is specified for the Chinese market. As a result, the BVK 2000 family (BVK 2000A, BVK 2000S and BVK2000I) is suitable for a wider range of local applications, from small squares of hard candies and chocolate, to wafers, biscuits and cereal bars. The production of small portions is especially important to the Chinese wedding candy market, as miniature but expensive sweets are traditionally given to relatives and friends as a token of affection during these ceremonies.

The BVK 2000I runs at a higher speed than previous models, enabling manufacturers to package 800 packs per minute with a running speed of 80 meters per minute. Additionally, changeovers are quick and easy, which decreases downtime by eliminating the need for lengthy training and ensures high flexibility for confectionery manufacturers. For example, the machine offers an automatic function for film reel changes.

The accompanying SVE 2520AR/LR vertical bagger is designed to efficiently package diverse products into pillow, gusseted and block bottom bags. The machine can produce bags at speeds up to 200 packs per minute, ensuring higher productivity and less downtime.

For the eighth consecutive year, Bosch will showcase its technologies at ProPak China. With more than 17,900 buyers attending, it is one of the largest integrated trade events for the Chinese processing and packaging industries.
